OMRF welcomes new neurologist

November 1, 2019

OMRF has named Chelsea Berkley, M.D., a clinical assistant member in the foundation’s Arthritis and Clinical Immunology Research Program.

Berkley is board certified in neurology and sees patients in OMRF’s Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence. She completed a neurology residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2018 and joined OMRF’s faculty this month.

The award-winning MS Center of Excellence is one of the preeminent MS research and treatment centers in the world. Opened in 2011, its staff now cares for more than 3,000 patients each year. The Center offers clinical care, neurological and ophthalmology services, and physical therapy, as well as a dedicated infusion suite and wellness education. Those clinical services also act as a catalyst for research, with patient volunteers donating biological samples and participating in studies designed to enable OMRF’s laboratory scientists to delve deeper into the disease’s mechanisms and causes.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society also named OMRF’s MS Center a Center for Comprehensive Care, the highest level within its Partners in MS Care Program.
