Mothers’ Clubs give to OMRF for 63rd consecutive year

April 30, 2019

On April 12, the Oklahoma Association of Mothers’ Clubs donated $1,652 to OMRF.

The gift was presented at the Mothers’ Clubs annual banquet at the Skirvin Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City.

With the most recent gift, it brings the group’s total contributions to OMRF to $128,380 over the past 63 years.

The donations are earmarked for cancer, heart disease and autoimmune disease research. Their funds have helped OMRF purchase lab supplies and paid for summer scholarships for state high school and college students.

Each year, OAMC members across the state raise money for OMRF by holding bake sales, golf tournaments, 5k runs, and father-daughter dances.

“The Mothers’ Clubs long-term dedication to supporting OMRF is an inspiration, and we are truly fortunate to have such a loyal partner to positively impact the lives of others,” said OMRF development associate Marissa Valdez. “Gifts like theirs can have a real impact on the community.”

The association, founded in 1940, is made up of Mothers’ Clubs in the following Oklahoma cities:

  • Canton
  • Lexington
  • Fairview
  • Goldsby
  • Hennessey
  • Ponca City
  • Okeene
  • Purcell
