For the third straight year, the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation has been recognized as one of the nation’s best workplaces.
OMRF was one of just 12 Oklahoma employers listed in the third annual Top Workplaces USA rankings, which were released Wednesday. The list was compiled by Energage, a Philadelphia-based research and consulting firm.
The 2023 Top Workplaces rankings resulted from an anonymous employee survey on factors such as job satisfaction, management quality, opportunities for growth, and pay and benefits.
The Oklahoman newspaper published a related state ranking of top employers in December. OMRF was among just three large Oklahoma employers (350+ employees) to rank in the top 10 each year for the past decade.
Employees cited several reasons they love working at OMRF: a family atmosphere, supportive culture, workforce diversity, emphasis on work-life balance and the belief that each person plays a crucial part in fulfilling OMRF’s mission of helping people live longer, healthier lives.
“This is a job I’m proud of,” said Jennifer Kelly, a 25-year employee and project director in OMRF’s Genes and Human Disease Research Program. “OMRF makes a difference in patients’ lives, has great standing in the community and has given me many opportunities over the years.”
Kelly, who started as a lab tech in 1997, is among dozens of OMRF employees with at least 15 years of service. Many cite workplace culture for remaining so long at the Oklahoma City-based nonprofit foundation.
“We hope every person at OMRF realizes that their part matters in our journey to make scientific discoveries,” said Vice President of Human Resources Courtney Stevens Greenwood. “The service longevity of so many OMRF employees tells us not only that we’re moving in a positive direction but that we have a track record of doing so. It’s rewarding to see that belief reflected in the survey results, and ultimately in being placed on the Top Workplaces USA list.”
