The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation has again been recognized as one of the nation’s best workplaces.
OMRF is among seven Oklahoma-based employers named in the second annual Top Workplaces USA rankings. Among those, the foundation was the only one in the health care field.
Philadelphia-based research and consulting firm Energage compiled the list.
The nationwide program is an offshoot of The Oklahoman newspaper’s Top Workplaces rankings. OMRF ranked No. 1 among Oklahoma’s large employers (350-plus employees) for 2021. The foundation is among just three Oklahoma employers to rank in the top 10 every year since the state Top Workplaces competition began in 2013.
Recipients are selected based on Energage’s anonymous, research-based employee engagement survey results. Staff rate employers on factors that include job satisfaction, management quality, pay and benefits, and opportunities for growth.
“We work hard to make OMRF a wonderful place to spend a career, and this confirms our belief that we are heading in the right direction,” said OMRF Vice President of Human Resources Courtney Stevens Greenwood.
Greenwood noted that more than 10% of employees have been with OMRF for at least two decades. In January, the foundation celebrated 45th anniversaries for three employees.
OMRF President Andrew Weyrich, Ph.D., said the foundation’s dedication to workplace culture was among the factors that attracted him to the nonprofit biomedical research institute. Reflecting on his first month at the OMRF, he called the honor “well deserved.”
“OMRF’s excellence can only continue with the dedicated team of people who make up the foundation,” said Weyrich. “This national recognition is only because of our employees. Their honest appraisals indicate our commitment to employee satisfaction has us on the right track.”
