OMRF will host its 11th annual estate-planning seminars for attorneys, CPAs and financial planners on Nov. 3 in Oklahoma City and Nov. 4 in Tulsa.
The keynote speaker at both locations will be Laura Hansen Dean, J.D., assistant vice president of gift planning and leadership giving at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Dean’s course, “Charitable Gift Planning,” will cover multiple topics, including giving-focused lectures on “Charitable Gifts of ‘Stuff,’” “Charitable Gift Planning for Non-Taxable Estates and for Baby-Boomers,” and “Ethical Challenges in Helping Clients Make Charitable Giving Decisions.”
Dean has more than 25 years of gift-planning experience.
Heritage Trust Company is the partnering sponsor for the events. Other sponsors include Grant Thornton, Rogers and Bell, Hogan Taylor, Bank of Oklahoma and Crowe & Dunlevy.
The seminar will provide attorneys with four hours of continuing-education credit from the Oklahoma Bar Association. CPAs in attendance will receive a certificate of completion, and CFPs will receive four hours of credit, as well. It also includes one hour of legal ethics credit.
The Nov. 3 seminar will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at OMRF in Oklahoma City. The Nov. 4 seminar will be identical to the previous day’s and will be held at the Doubletree Hotel Downtown at 626 West 7th St., from 8 a.m. until noon.
The event costs $60, and seating is limited. Seminar materials will be available in PDF form with paid registration. Alternatively, materials may be purchased at additional cost in notebook form and picked up at the seminar.
Registration is required and will remain open through Oct. 29. To register at either location, call (405) 271-7400 or visit www.omrf.org/estate.
