Meng Zhao, Ph.D., has joined OMRF as an assistant member in the foundation’s Arthritis and Clinical Immunology Research Program. She comes to OMRF from the La Jolla Institute, La Jolla, Calif., where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship and was an instructor in the department of developmental immunology.
Her research focuses on a special type of white blood cell called a T cell and how it helps protect the body from autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Her goal is to find new ways to regulate the function of T cells and help design next-generation precision medicine to manage them.
Zhao received her B.S. from Wuhan University in China and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
