Diabetes

Diabetes is on the rise in our country and, for millions, a daily struggle to keep under control. With approximately 1.4 million new cases diagnosed each year, it is a leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, amputations and heart attacks. OMRF scientists are undertaking novel research about the effects of diabetes on the heart and the processes at work in the body during the early stages of the disease.
