Langston University Biomedical Research Scholars Program

Discover a future in biomedical research this summer through the Langston University Biomedical research Scholars Program. This program starts with an 8-week,  paid summer research experience where Langston Scholars will be guided by senior scientists while working on individual projects in cutting-edge labs. The discoveries made during this program could not only shape your future but also contribute to advancing treatments for human diseases.

During the 8-week summer program, Langston Scholars will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform bench research guided by laboratory mentors
  • Attend weekly seminars and professional development workshops
  • Participate in social and cultural events
  • Write, with the help of their mentor, an abstract summarizing their summer project
  • Give a short, formal scientific presentation outlining their research findings
  • Attend a celebratory luncheon in honor of their accomplishments

Our Langston Scholars will also receive many perks during their time at OMRF, including free breakfast on workdays, free 24-hour gym access, free parking as well as free dormitory-style housing.

Following the successful completion of the summer program, scholars may explore options to continue their work for multiple academic years, enjoying longer-term mentorship and employment opportunities.

Please apply to join us as a Langston Scholar and help us shape the future of science!

Applications due: Feb. 15, 2025
