Inspiring the Next Generation
From the time of OMRF’s founding in 1946, the foundation has been committed to educating and training the next generation of biomedical researchers. Our charter spells out that OMRF will “foster and encourage education and learning in the medical sciences, both pure and applied.”
OMRF has more than 600 Sir Alexander Fleming Scholar program alumni, more than 75 postdoctoral and graduate students train at the foundation each year, more than three dozen John H. Saxon Service Academy Summer Research Program alumni from U.S. military academies, and 18 OMRF-OKC VA Langston Scholar alumni. Now with the 77 for 77 campaign, we’re injecting critical support into Oklahoma’s public schools.
Discovery Kits
With the generous support of Sarkeys Foundation, OMRF has created a hands-on science experiment to distribute to 7th-grade science classrooms statewide. Science teachers who participate in the program will receive a stipend. This is a win-win for Oklahoma students – it injects critical support into our schools and opens new avenues of learning for thousands of students statewide.
