A trio of attorneys will help accountants make sense of new tax and estate-planning laws during a free conference next month sponsored by the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
The conference is from 1 to 4 p.m., Nov. 15 in the OMRF Conference Center, 825 NE 13. All certified public accountants who attend will earn three hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credit.
Scheduled speakers are Jerry D. Balentine of the Heritage Law Center and Richard Kells and Kent Gardner with the law firm Hartzog Conger Cason & Neville.
Balentine will address the new charitable IRA rollover laws and tax traps to avoid within the new legislation. Kells will provide up-to-date information on the Oklahoma Tax code, highlighting sales tax exemptions and college-savings plans. Gardner’s presentation focuses on recent legislative changes that created new procedures for handling estates and probate cases.
Seating is limited, and registration is open through Nov. 8. For more information, call Emily Rothrock at 271-7400.
