Sam McNeal, Ph.D., and Michael Sweeney have joined OMRF’s Department of Technology Ventures. McNeal received his B.S. degree in biology from Georgia State University, then went on to earn an Sc.M. and Ph.D. in Pathobiology from Brown University. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University Pennsylvania and the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, studying cell death following hemorrhagic shock. At OMRF, McNeal will be responsible for market research, managing material transfer agreements and confidential disclosure agreements.
“Sam is well-equipped for this kind of a role as a tech transfer professional,” says OMRF Vice President of Technology Ventures Manu Nair. “He has built impressive credentials in the lab, and those will translate well in the technology commercialization space.”
Sweeney earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance and economics from Oklahoma State University and is currently working on a master’s in business analytics. Prior to joining OMRF, Sweeney worked as a strategic planning and finance manager for the Renaissance Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in McAllen, Texas.
