Research
Amanda Moyer, MD, is a dual-board-certified internal medicine and pediatrics physician who completed combined adult and pediatric rheumatology fellowship training at Stanford University, with a clinical focus in medical education, systemic lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis, antiphospholipid syndrome, and complex autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases across the lifespan. She primarily cares for adolescents and young adults and adults who were diagnosed with rheumatic disease in childhood, emphasizing smooth transition from pediatric to adult care and long-term therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Dr. Moyer has particular expertise in reproductive rheumatology, including pregnancy in lupus and antiphospholipid syndrome, assisted reproductive technology, and recurrent pregnancy loss. Her scholarly work includes a peer-reviewed review article on systemic lupus erythematosus and conception, addressing infertility, fertility preservation, assisted reproductive technology, and pregnancy outcomes (Semin Reprod Med. 2024;42(3):209–227. PMID: 39667369). She uses this expertise to collaborate closely with maternal–fetal medicine and fertility specialists to support safe, patient-centered family-building decisions.
Clinically, Dr. Moyer is a clinician–educator who manages a broad spectrum of pediatric and adult rheumatic diseases, including JIA, vasculitis, SLE, lupus nephritis, autoinflammatory conditions, and MAS/HLH with a passion for improving access to care for children and young adults. She mentors residents and fellows interested in Med-Peds and rheumatology, with a focus on caring for high-needs, vulnerable patients and building durable therapeutic relationships that support them through critical life transitions. She is passionate about expanding pediatric access to medications approved in adults through clinical research and thoughtful inclusion of younger patients in clinical trials. Her national recognition includes selection as an American College of Rheumatology Distinguished Fellow (Class of 2025).
