Why do Putnam City Schools support cancer research at OMRF?

Dr. Fred Rhodes

Superintendent, Putnam City Schools

“Ask our students their favorite memories of school, and the Cancer Drive always tops the list. But it’s not about the games or the trophies. It’s because they’ve learned to be philanthropists at an early age. Almost every one of our students has been touched by cancer in some way, and the Cancer Drive instills in them a passion for giving. We’ll continue to support OMRF. It’s just a given.
It’s part of Putnam City’s culture.”

Through events like bake sales, carnivals and a 5K run, the PC Cancer Drive has raised $3.4 million for OMRF since 1975.
