You may know Pat Marble from the Biomed Shop. But a growing number of OMRFers are learning about a special culinary talent he possesses: making ice cream.
When Pat shared his creations with his coworkers, the treats were so popular that he had to start making them in bulk.
They’ve even landed Pat a few catering gigs at parties, including a get-together for the staff in the Functional and Chemical Genomics Research Program.
Any flavor he makes starts with his base vanilla ice cream, which he makes from half-and-half cream. Then he adds goodies like Butterfingers and Oreos. His popular peanut butter chocolate recipe features fudge pudding. He’s also created root beer and coffee flavors.
“I can make just about any flavor,” he says. But some requests are just too off-the-wall. “Someone asked for broccoli and kale ice cream. I just couldn’t bring myself to do that one.”
