For the ninth year in a row, OMRF has received the highest possible rating from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest charity evaluator.
OMRF is one of only 14 organizations in Oklahoma to earn a 4-star rating on CharityNavigator.org <http://www.charitynavigator.org/> .
“Only 1 percent of the charities we rate have received at least nine consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms most other charities in America,” said Ken Berger, President and CEO of Charity Navigator.
Using publicly available financial information, Charity Navigator promotes intelligent giving by providing report cards for U.S. and international charities. The nonprofit organization measures charities’ performance in seven categories: fund-raising efficiency, fund-raising expenses, program expenses, primary revenue growth, administrative expenses, program expense growth and working capital ratios. It then assigns each charity a score from zero to four stars.
“We take pride in being a fiscally responsible organization,” said OMRF President Stephen Prescott, M.D. “This rating should remind our supporters that when you give to OMRF, those dollars are not going to overhead—they’re going to fund life-saving research on human disease.”
“As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support with their hard-earned dollars,” said Charity Navigator’s Berger. “This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates OMRF from its peers and demonstrates to the public that it is worthy of their trust.”
