OMRF is currently in the midst of the most ambitious expansion in our 63-year history with construction of a new “green” research tower. OMRF’s tower will be, we believe, the first laboratory building in North America to harness the wind to help power its facilities and will earn gold-level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) certification. With this tower, we will grow our staff of 50 principal investigators and roughly 500 employees to 80 investigators and a total of 800 employees. Among the many advantages this growth will bring will be to strengthen OMRF’s clinical and “translational” research programs—areas that focus on transforming laboratory discoveries into better outcomes for patients.
