The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation announced today that it has named Laura Lang director of development and planned giving.
Lang comes to OMRF with 11 years of dedicated service in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she served as director of development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. She also was recruited by the regional office of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as development field consultant to train and consult with other clubs on various topics.
Prior to Lang’s tenure at the Boys & Girls Clubs, she served as a donor relations officer and development director for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and professional writing from the University of Oklahoma and also completed coursework at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
“Laura is well connected in the community and is respected by her peers,” said Penny Voss, OMRF’s vice president of development. “With her strong work ethic and enthusiasm, she will be a tremendous addition to our team.”
Lang is a member of the board of directors for the Oklahoma chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and co-chaired its National Philanthropy Day in 2006. She also has volunteered with the Oklahoma City AIDS Walk, the Festival of the Arts and the Even Start Family Literacy Program.
