Sir Alexander Fleming Scholars Program
The Fleming Scholars program is open to Oklahoma high school seniors and undergraduate students – incoming freshmen through rising seniors
Students are paired with top-tier mentors for an eight-week experience designing, performing and presenting original research in areas including autoimmune diseases and aging to cancer biology and genetics.
Applications open Nov. 1 and are due Feb. 1, 2025
OMRF-OKC VA Langston Biomedical Research Scholars Program
The Langston Biomedical Program is open to LU students – rising sophomores through rising seniors
OMRF partnered with Oklahoma’s only historically Black university in an effort to diversify biomedical research and expose Langston’s bright science students to career opportunities. Langston Scholars are paired with OMRF mentors during an eight-week, paid summer internship and have the option to continue their work throughout the school year.

John H. Saxon Service Academy Summer Research Program
OMRF partners with United States military academies to provide hands-on laboratory experience to select cadets interested in biomedical research. Each summer, several military students are chosen to conduct a rigorous month of research at OMRF, concluding with a scientific seminar to share their findings.
